Costa Rica Recovery "Cleanup in the Park @ Parque República del Perú" (San Jose, Costa Rica)
Date & Time
Costa Rica Recovery is hosting "Cleanup in the Park @ Parque República del Perú" on Saturday September 30th 1pm Costa Rica Time. All members of the local recovery community are invited to join us as we clean up Parque República del Perú in honor of International Recovery Day.
This year, for the first time, the Recovery Movement is taking our message of hope to an entirely new level. Introducing International Recovery Day: an all-inclusive global celebration of recovery.
International Recovery Day
The concept for International Recovery Day came about through a combination of ideas generated from renowned recovery author and historian William White, the “First Lady of Alcoholics Anonymous” Marty Mann, and the creator of the Wellbriety movement, Don Coyhis.
The event will occur on September 30th in a two-fold fashion:
- A free online event where recovery supporters from around the world launch their own virtual fireworks in celebration of recovery.
- A “Recovery Lights Around the World” initiative, in which over 80 structures will light up their foundations with the color purple—the color that symbolizes our movement. Niagara Falls, the Ben Franklin Bridge, Aloha Towers, and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame will be among the structures lit up for the occasion!
Our event will shift the focus from the ravages of addiction to the hope offered in recovery. This moves attention away from the problem and towards the solution. Overall, the idea is to connect the dots between all folks in recovery, from all addictions, and all recovery pathways, all around the globe—all in one day.
We want everyone supporting addiction recovery to join us. The first-ever International Recovery Day will take place on September 30th, wrapping up the events calendar for National Recovery Month.
We need your help to make this a truly historic global celebration of recovery. Register today to join other recovery supporters from all addictions (not just drugs and alcohol), and from all recovery pathways, all around the world, as we show the world that we can and DO recover!
